R. Kyle Bocinsky (Ph.D., Washington State University, 2014) is a computational archaeologist interested in human responses to environmental change. Currently, Kyle is a post-doctoral researcher with SKOPE—Synthesized Knowledge of Past Environments—working to bring data on paleo-environments to archaeologists and the general public. Kyle develops software to support reproducible research in archaeology; he is the author of the PaleoCAR paleoclimate reconstruction method, recently published in Nature Communications.
Most of Kyle's research has focused on the ancestral Pueblo Southwest (as part of the Village Ecodynamics Project), but he also has projects on the Northwest Coast of North America, sub-Saharan Africa, and on the Tibetan Plateau.
